2014 Spring Season

Ball-Hockey-051The Bradford Minor Ball Hockey League is pleased to announce the opening of the online registration for the 2014 spring season. The season will commence on the week of April 21st and will run into the first week of July. We have scheduled ALL final games of the season to be played on a Saturday afternoon so that we can celebrate with awards presentation and a BBQ that players, family and friends can enjoy. Depending on the age groups we will be using Monday’s and Wednesday’s as our main playing day with the possibility of one Tuesday game for our Monday group to compensate for any game that falls on the Monday of a long weekend. Because the season is played on weekdays, spots are limited so don’t hesitate to register as divisions may fill up quickly. (www.bradfordballhockey.com)

Please keep in mind that if you are registering for our Learn to Play program (4 and 5 years olds) that at least one parent for each child registered must volunteer and be part of the program. It’s the only way we can make this work efficiently and teach our kids the fundamentals of the sport. Our program has grown over the years and the request for friends to play with friends will not be allowed unless both those child’s parents volunteer to become coach and assistant coach. (maximum two per team)

Teams will be selected on a coaches draft held one week before the program is to begin. Please answer the questionnaire truthfully so that teams can be balance properly when drafted. We have implemented this in nearby programs and it has worked successfully in past years.

Registration forms, sponsorship documents and more info in regards to the program will be added to our website throughout the week. Currently, Online registration is the only method of registering until we have confirmed our in person registration dates.

We may consider merging with the Innisfil program if our numbers are low. This could mean that each team from Bradford may have to take a 1 or 2 game road trip sometime throughout the season. This won’t be determined until early April.

If a merger should happen all games in Innisfil are played at the Innisfil Recreational Complex located at Yonge and Innisfil Beach Road on Sunday afternoons.

A draft schedule will be made available in early February. This draft schedule would have different scenarios of your days of play if a merger with Innisfil were to happen.

*a merger may be considered in all age groups except for our Squirt division.

2014 Fall Minor Registration

The Bradford Minor Ball Hockey League has opened its online registration for the fall season.

It will begin in mid October and run through to early February with no games scheduled throughout the Christmas Holidays.

Games will be once a week on a Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the age group.
(This information will not be available until the first week of October)

All games will be played out of the Bradford District Community Centre located at 125 Simcoe Rd.

We are currently offering the following age brackets but they may be modified due to the large amount of requests from parents who have children born in 2009.

  • Tyke (2006-2008)
  • Novice (2003-2005)
  • Atom (2000-2002)
  • Peewee (1997-1999)

If you have a child born in 2009 please register them in our tyke division and use the pay later option. If we exceed the required numbers we will then modify our divisions and notify everyone of the change.

Registration costs are $120.00 per player. This will include your 14 game season (playoffs included), t-shirt style jersey, awards, and banquet.

Letter from a Volunteer Coach

"Today I heard a comment made about me behind my back. I started to turn around and look, but then decided better of it and kept my eyes on the field.
